Katathermometer- A type of cooling-power anemometer based upon the principle that the time constant of a thermometer is a function of its ventilation.

Keraunograph- A radio direction-finder for recording spherics.

Klydonograph- A device attached to electric power lines for estimating certain electrical characteristics of lightning by means of the figures produced on photographic film by the lightning-produced surge carried over the lines.

Klystron- A power amplifier tube used to amplify weak microwave energy (provided by a radio- frequency exciter) to a high power level for a radar transmitter.

Konimeter- An instrument for determining the dust content of a sample of air.

Koniscope- An instrument that indicates the presence of dust particles in the atmosphere.

Krypton hygrometer- A hygrometer technically very similar to the Lyman-alpha hygrometer, but with the hydrogen radiation source replaced by a Krypton glow tube. The main emission is at 123.58 nm, and the main advantages are a longer lifetime of the Krypton tube and a better calibration stability compared to the Lyman-alpha hygrometer, which makes this instrument more suitable for continuous humidity recordings. On the other hand, the sensitivity of the Krypton hygrometer is distinctly lower; therefore it is used mainly for ground- based measurements.
