Gramdata Assimilation- Data assmilation is the incorporation of measurements into the numerical model of a physical system, to improve the forecasts of models. In other words, it periodically modifies numerical simulation of the state of the atmosphere extracting the maximum information from sparse data, both by interpolation in space and time by the combination of information from different observations. Data assimilation follows a 6-hour cycle based on the upper air observation time's 0000UTC and 12000UTC and the synoptic hours 0600UTC and 1800UTC.

Grdbas- ADAS NAMELIST variable that indicates the name of the ARPS grid-base history file.

Gradient Richardson Number- A dimensionless ratio, Ri, related to the buoyant production or consumption of turbulence divided by the shear production of turbulence. It is used to indicate dynamic stability and the formation of turbulence.
