Maxwell- A
unit of magnetic flux equal to the flux perpendicular to an area of 1 square
centimeter in a magnetic field of 1 gauss (named after Scottish physicist James
Clerk Maxwell who formulated mathematical expressions describing electric and
magnetic phenomena and introduced the concept that light is an electromagnetic
action phenomenon).
Meter- In the
International System of Units, the fundamental unit of length; equal to 100 cm,
3.2808399 ft, or 39.370079 in.
Mile- A unit
of distance equal to 5280 ft or 1.609 km; commonly known as statute
mile.
Mile per hour-
A unit of speed expressing the number of international miles
covered per hour (the common abbreviation in everyday use is mph, although mi/h,
using the SI method of expressing derived units, is sometimes used, especially
in the United States).
Millibar- A
pressure unit of 1000 dynes cm-2, convenient for reporting atmospheric
pressures; the millibar does not fit into any commonly employed system of
physical units (one millibar equals one hectopascal).
Minute(agnle)-
A unit of angular distance equal to a 60th of a degree (one
minute of latitude equals 1 nautical mile, which is 1860
meters).
Minute(time)-
A unit of time equal to 1/60th of an hour and to 60
seconds.
Mole- A unit
of mass numerically equal to the molecular weight of the substance (the
gram-mole or gram-molecule is the mass in grams numerically equal to the
molecular weight; for example, a gram-mole of oxygen is 32
grams).
