Nautical_mile-
The length of one minute of arc along any great circle on the
earth's surface; since this actual distance varies slightly with latitude, a
nautical mile by international agreement is defined as 1852 meters (6076.103
feet or 1.1508 statute miles).
Neper- The
analogue of the decibel, utilizing natural logarithms rather than logarithms to
the base 10 (one neper is equal to 8.686 decibels); the natural logarithm of a
ratio of two amplitudes used as a measure of attenuation.
Newton- A unit
of force that, when applied to a body of mass one kilogram, gives it an
acceleration of one meter per second squared(1 N=1kg ms-2).
Nit- A
luminance unit equal to 1 candle per square meter measured perpendicular to the
rays from the source.
