Any soft, gentle breeze.
Zombie turbulence-
The turbulent perturbations of temperature remaining in a stable boundary layer after all turbulent motions have died out.
Zonal flow-
In meteorology, the flow of air along a latitude circle; more specifically, the latitudinal (east or west) component of existing flow.
Zonal index-
A measure of strength of the middle latitude westerlies, usually expressed as the horizontal pressure difference between 35 degree and 55 degreeN latitude, or as the corresponding geostrophic wind.
Zonal kinetic energy-
The kinetic energy of the mean zonal wind, obtained by averaging the component of the wind along a fixed latitude circle.
Zonal wavenumber-
The wavenumber in the zonal direction, that is, along a line of constant latitude.
Zone of maximum precipitation-
The elevation band on a mountain or orographic barrier that receives the greatest precipitation for a seasonal or annual average.
Z r relation-
A relationship between radar reflectivity factor Z (mm6 m minus 3) and rain rate R (mm h minus 1).
